Repeat Prescriptions

Electronic Prescription Service

We are now offering an Electronic Prescription Service. This is a very efficient, convenient and flexible way of requesting a repeat prescription. This means you are able to nominate a specific pharmacy and once we have received your prescription request we will process your prescription and send it electronically to that pharmacy for you to collect without the need for you to collect the paper prescription from the practice.

Repeat prescription requests can be made by the following ways:

Online

Our practice has been enabled to take repeat prescriptions online or through the NHS app. In order to make use of this facility, you must be registered as a patient with our practice. Only then can you register with this service. You can register with this practice/service by contacting us on 0116 2943100.

if you need to set up or if you require assistance for the NHS app please click on this link here

You can also request a repeat prescription through the new system AccuRx. Simply click on the banner below.

Request a repeat prescription through AccuRx right now

By Post / In Person

You can send in a printed request slip (available from the practice, which shows the medication you are taking) to the practice by post or in person. There is a repeat prescription box wall mounted near the main lobby, you can leave your request in there 365 days of the year between 08:00 and 20:00.

We do not recommend posting prescriptions as once it the leaves the practice and enters Royal Mail postal system it cannot be tracked. If you would like a pharmacy to order your repeat prescription in person then there will be a form to complete in order to order your prescription however the doctors can only authorise this.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to book an appointment to speak with one of our pharmacists who work within the practice over the phone, at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
